Origins

Growing up in the rural midwest, in a family of musicians and preachers, Emma Lyn has been singing, playing piano and violin, and writing songs since she was old enough to speak. Emma was a multiple scholarship student at Central Michigan University School of Music, where she met many future collaborators and traveled the world performing with orchestras and rock/pop ensembles. Emma’s travels eventually led her to Chicago, where she has resided and played music since 2002. Emma performs with several local bands and orchestras, encompassing a variety of styles that speak to her ability to improvise and absorb any style of music.
